Welcome to Amateur Photography!

~Smil and I (~Nikoletina) founded this club because we believe that there are many talented photographers here on dA that did not get a tiny bit of attention that they deserve. Therefore, considering that, this club will focus on helping every photographer to improve himself by getting attention and more creative suggestions than before. There is one little catch. (d)SLR cameras are not allowed. Why? It is simple. We are trying to show everyone that it is not the camera that takes the photo - it is the photographer. In some cases, ordinary scene can look unreal when taken with (d)SLR camera, and some people abuse that. We will try to stimulate our members to "forget" what camera they are using, and be as much creative as possible. I hope that they will see that they don't need to use professional cameras to make fantastic photos.

If you like the idea and want to join, procedure is as follows:

Please read this first, if you don't follow the instructions you'll only get a note that asks you to read our journal again because you missed something

Send us a note with a subject I want in containing link to a photo of your choice (Your photo, here on dA) and what camera you are using.
We will then do our magic after which you'll get a note from us with further instructions.

I really don't get you people.

Is it so difficult to follow our joining rules?

No SLRs allowed.

Link to one of your photos.

Your camera make and model.

If understanding english is a problem note us in comments, and I'll get Smi to translate it to as many languages possible.

And I suppose that if you have an SLR you'd know about it, right?

Dunno, I'll have to think how to make it more user friendly.

Well, after more than one year, we started to do something with this club. All members have been added, every note was responded to, and we can finally start with some club business.

We have to revise some rules, to add some new rules, we are also thinking of changing the submission rules...well, a lot of changes will happen, but this time it will be done fast.

We are also preparing a contest, but unfortunately, we are both broke, so no subscription as a reward for now. Of course, every help will be appreciated. And I'm not talking about sub sponsorship - you could offer a feature in your journal as a prize. Use your imagination. Oh, and, spread the word that AP is up and running - more members - better competition.
